James became a Partner of Ferrier Hodgson in 1994 and has practised in the field of corporate advisory and restructuring since 1984. James is Ferrier Hodgson’s retail practice leader.
Since 1999, James has worked with many retail businesses providing confidential strategic advice, undertaking due diligence assignments and restructuring retailers affairs. He is highly regarded as a key advisor on retail by lenders and financiers to the industry.
Major recent projects
While the majority of James’ retail assignments are confidential and involve supported turnaround and restructure strategies, he has dealt with some of Australia’s biggest retail restructures representing over $2.5 billion of retail sales in Australia and New Zealand.
James regularly travels overseas with Westfield studying international retail business models and global trends. He is also often asked to speak at industry seminars about trends in the Australian retail market and the challenges impacting the retail sector.
