Andrew has been a partner at Ferrier Hodgson since 1998. He has been involved in insolvency work for more than 25 years, including time in the then-affiliate office of Ferrier Hodgson in the United States, Kahn Consulting Inc. He spent five years heading up Ferrier Hodgson’s Indonesian office before returning to Perth in 2004 with a focus on corporate restructuring and recovery.
Andrew has gained a wide range of experience working on corporate assignments in Australia, the United States, Asia and South America, in the areas of:
- Reconstruction and turnaround services
- Corporate advice and business planning
- Insolvency management
- Fraud examination and forensic accounting
Andrew’s diverse experience has seen him playing key roles in the corporate restructuring of companies operating in: mining; telecommunications; power generation; retail; aquaculture; property; hospitality and tourism; manufacturing; infrastructure; pulp and paper; banking and finance; timber and plywood industries.
He has been actively involved in some of the largest and most complex corporate insolvencies and reconstructions in the region and beyond. The biggest of these – Asia Pulp & Paper Company Limited (“APP”) in Indonesia – remains the largest corporate restructuring in Asia, and involved providing strategic and financial advice to creditors regarding the US$13.9 billion restructuring of APP’s Indonesian and Chinese operations. For this work, in 2002 Ferrier Hodgson was awarded the Debt Restructuring Advisor of the Year Award by IFR Asia.
Andrew also played a role in the US$3.2 billion corporate restructuring of Telecom Argentina, JSC BTA Bank, the largest bank in Kazakhstan, regarding the restructuring of its US$13 billion debt and Astana Finance, one of the leading providers of leasing finance in Kazakhstan, in its US$3 billion restructuring.

Andrew has been a Registered Company Liquidator since 1995 and an Official Liquidator since 1998.
