Darren is a Partner in our Western Austraian practice with more than 19 years of experience in restructuring, coprorate recovery and financial due diligence. He has worked in Ferrier Hodgson Perth and Hong Kong offices and spent several months on secondment with NM Rothschild (Australia) in Sydney dealing with complex resource sector workouts. He has been a partner since 2004.
Ferrier Hodgson’s assignments have provided Darren with significant experience in all facets of corporate recovery and large-scale restructuring. Darren has been involved in a number of complex restructuring and recovery matters – several of which have been based in the resources, energy, agricultural and property construction sectors.
Darren’s experience in Asia included involvement in challenging multi-jurisdictional restructuring and work-out teams, with assignments ranging from Hong Kong, Japan and South Korea to the Philippines.
Some of the significant assignments that Darren has been involved with include his role as Administrator of Sons of Gwalia Limited (gold, tantalum and lithium mines), Windimurra Vanadium Limited, GBS Gold Pty Ltd, Great Southern Limited, SFM Australasia Pty Ltd and acting as Receiver and Manager of Copperco Limited. These assignments reflect significant experience in the resources and agricultural sectors, which have also involved communication with large creditor and stakeholder groups.
Darren holds a BCom from the Curtin University of Western Australia. He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and holds several other key registration and industry memberships.
Darren’s active involvement in assignments enables him to offer clients a practical, commercial and pragmatic approach to situations involving financial distress.
