George has more than 20 years experience advising stakeholders in corporate restructuring and insolvency. His experience covers many industries including pharmaceutical, aged care, financial services, manufacturing, petroluem retailing, gaming and hospitality.
George is quick to identify problems within a business and find practical solutions.
George was recently appointed Voluntary Adminsitrator and subsequently Liquidator of Sonray Capital Markets, a finance broker where over $45M in funds was missing from client accounts.
Other key assignments have included:
- Appointed Administrator and subsequently Liquidator of the Nylex Group of Companies
- Appointed Receiver and Manager of the Brentwood Retirement Village in Kincumber NSW
- Appointed Receiver and Manager of four trading hotels and pokie venues
- Appointed Receiver and Manager of the Mannway Group which at its peak was one of the 10 largest private transport operators in Australia
- Appointed Administrator of national retailer Clive Peeters
- Administrator of Balgee Oil, Mobil’s third-largest distributor and one of the largest independent petroleum retailers in Australia with over 40 sites and depots. All unsecured creditors were paid out and there was a significant return to the secured creditor.
- Voluntary Administrator of the Midas group which operated a network of automotive service centres across Australia. As part of a Deed of Company Arrangement the company was restructured and survives today with over 70 stores nationally.
- Joint Administrator to the Kliens group of jewellery retail outlets with over 190 retail speciality stores.
- Adviser to a major financier on the restructure of a large chain of retail pharmacies.
George also holds the role of Staff Partner and is responsible for the firm’s Asian practices and worldwide affliations with Zolfo Cooper and KLC Kennic Lui. In these roles, George is actively involved in setting the firm’s global strategy and growth agenda.
