John has more than 30 years experience in corporate recovery, reconstructions and turnarounds. He has been with Ferrier Hodgson since the establishment of the Adelaide office in 1992 and became a Partner in 1997.
John’s chief area of expertise is the wine industry, where he had roles in the receivership and sale of Poplars Winery and Chardonnay Lodge in the Coonawarra, Normans Wines, Eden Valley Wines, the Hill Wine Group, the Gartner Group as well as a number of confidential assignments. John also heads up Ferrier Hodgson’s national wine industry specialisation team.
John’s high-profile appointments include Ed Harry retail stores, Solar Shop Australia, Balfours Bakery, Nautilis Australia, Torbreck Vineyards, Colonial Wine Estates and Andrew Garrett’s Braidwood Vineyard & Management Group.
The majority of John’s work involves undertaking business reviews, restructures and turnarounds on a confidential basis for a number of lenders.
Industries in which John has recently been involved include retail, renewable energy, automotive, manufacturing, aquaculture, mining, property and construction.
He is also a board member and advisor to a number of companies involved in the wine and automotive industries.
