Biography

Ken has been with Ferrier Hodgson for 10 years and has been involved in a wide range of restructuring and corporate recovery assignments in both Australia and Hong Kong. Ken’s industry experience includes property, manufacturing, hotels, managed investment schemes and mining. Ken takes a commercial and realistic approach to his work, taking an active and hands on role in each of his assignments.

Significant work undertaken:

  • Lafayette Mining Limited – A publicly listed company on the Australian Stock Exchange and the major shareholder of the Lafayette Copper and Zinc mine operations in the Philippines. Ken’s major responsibilities included:
    • Managing the marketing and sale program of the Bank Group exposure and share assets;
    • Managing liaisons with management team regarding operating cash flows;
    • Reporting to the Bank Group regarding monitoring of trading activities, recommendations and implementing strategies for the sale of the Bank Group exposure;
  • First Engineering Limited – A plastic precision engineering company with manufacturing operations in China, Singapore, Malaysia and India. Ken’s involvement included:
    • Performing a detailed review of the business operations
    • Conducting a share sale program for the Group
    • Implementing the strategic plan of the Group with management
  • Century Yuasa Batteries – Century is a subsidiary of the Japanese based GS Yuasa Group, which is a Top 100 listed Japanese company. It owned and operated Australia’s leading automotive battery manufacturing and retail company. Century is the second largest automotive battery manufacturer in Australia producing approximately 960,000 batteries per annum. Ken assumed a management role of the operations of the company and was involved in developing and implementing successful strategies to maximise the manufacturing capacity.

Other corporate recovery assignments that Ken has been involved with include:

  • Undertaking several business and pre-lending reviews for large banks in Australia and Hong Kong
  • Numerous corporate and personal recovery assignments involving investigations of:
    • Managed Investment Schemes
    • Phoenix operations
    • Tracing of assets
    • Insolvent trading actions
