Max has practised exclusively in the fields of insolvency, turnaround management, corporate advisory and litigation support since 1978. During his career, he has been engaged to assist businesses in diverse fields including: media; gaming; bloodstock; manufacturing; retail; childcare; clothing and textiles; advertising; outdoor signage; transport.
In addition, Max has acted in numerous litigation matters as an expert witness, predominantly in determining the solvency of a company, valuation of businesses or business assets, calculations of economic loss and as an expert witness on the conduct of registered liquidators.
Max has handled numerous high-profile corporate matters. Recent appointments have included:
- Receiver of CFK Childcare Centres Limited, the second-largest childcare operator in Australia
- Voluntary Administrator and Liquidator of Commander Communications Limited, publicly listed telco
- Official Liquidator of James Hardie Australia Finance Pty Limited
Some of Max’s turnaround consulting assignments have included:
- Magic Millions – bloodstock auction house
- Kablow Holdings Pty Limited – outdoor signage business
- Macquarie Radio Network Limited – radio stations 2GB and 2CH
In addition, Max has handled a number of high-profile bankruptcies, including: Christopher Skase; Robert Trimbole; Dr Geoffrey Edelstein and the estate of Lang Hancock.
Max also sits on the board of publicly listed Macquarie Radio Network Limited.
