Michael has been Director of Corporate Communications at Ferrier Hodgson since 2006. His role is to manage all the firm’s external communications and to provide high-level communications strategy. Michael handles all enquiries from the media, organises and manages press conferences and provides the Ferrier Hodgson partners with regular detailed media analysis.
As part of his broader comminications role, Michael manages publication of the Ferrier Hodgson newsletters, including: Ferriers Focus; Recovery@Ferriers; Forensics@Ferriers; and Expert Update. He is also responsible for managing the quality and appearance of all Ferrier Hodgson documents and external publications.
Before he came to Ferrier Hodgson, Michael spent two years as a corporate communications consultant with Gavin Anderson & Co in Melbourne, providing communications services to the Australian Government during the final privatisation of Telstra (T3). Previously he spent 21 years working as a journalist in Melbourne, Tokyo and Hong Kong. His last seven years as a journalist were spent as a senior writer at the Australian Financial Review.
Michael has a broad network of contacts within Australian business journalism and an excellent understanding of the media, Australilan business and the corporate insolvency and turnaround sector.
