Stewart is a Partner in Ferrier Hodgson’s Corporate Recovery practice in Melbourne and has 12 years experience in corporate recovery, restructuring, forensic accounting and investigation engagements.
A Chartered Accountant, Certified Fraud Examiner and member of the Insolvency Practitioners Association of Australia, Stewart has undertaken and managed assignments in Australia, the United Kingdom, Europe, Asia and South America.
Stewart specialises in identifying and quantifying the financial impact of operational issues and advising management on and implementing improvement strategies.
Stewart’s experience consists of engagements across a variety of industries including:
- Advising AWB Limited on the orderly wind-down of its Brazilian operations
- Advising an Australian Government-owned corporation on the optimised exit of its logistics division
- Receivership of entities associated with the Timbercorp Group of Companies
- Acting CEO and CFO of a non-banking financial institution in receivership
- Advising hotels regarding the Victorian Government’s auction process for gaming machine entitlements
- Advising the Odeon Cinema Group (UK) in relation to the purchase of a chain of cinemas
- Advising Queensland Racing Ltd on the financial loss suffered by participants in the Queensland racing industry as a result of the 2007 Equine Influenza outbreak
- Assisting UNICEF (the Maldives) to assess the processes and controls for the monitoring and effective use of donated funds and equipment following the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami
