Tim has 15 years experience in the corporate insolvency and turnaround sector, after joining Ferrier Hodgson as a graduate in 1996. His core activity is the conduct of investigating accountants reports and business viability assignments for a wide range of stakeholders and financial institutions. Tim provides innovative, succinct and practical advice to assist companies and stakeholders to decide the most appropriate strategy for turnaround or restructure.
Tim has been involved in assignments across a wide range of industries including agribusiness, aquaculture, automotive, education, gaming, manufacturing, property and construction.
A highlight of Tim’s career was a secondment to Ferrier Hodgson’s affiliate firm in London where he spent three years working on a number of corporate restructuring assignments including the Federal Mogul Group, which was a worldwide leader in the manufacture of automotive components. Tim was an integral member of the team which restructured Mogul’s UK and European operations.
More recently Tim has worked on a number of confidential projects providing advice to financiers of debt-impaired entities, most notably being a key member of the team engaged by a banking syndicate (incorporating US private placement noteholders) to review and restructure the facilities of a major diversified industrial conglomerate in Australia (turnover $3b FY09).
Tim’s other key assignments have included:
- Adviser to shareholder of major multinational manufacturer (turnover $1.8b FY06) regarding closure of plants, product rationalisation and future strategy.
- Review of major tuna farming and finfish hatchery/grow-out business resulting in new bank facilities.
- Successful restructure of Woodlands School (a 75-year-old private girl’s school in Adelaide) through a merger with a nearby private school utilising a DOCA.
