Tim has more than 20 years experience in chartered accounting firms in Australia and the United Kingdom, conducting insolvency and turnaround restructuring matters including Receiverships, Voluntary Administrations and Liquidations, and investigation of companies’ and individuals’ financial affairs in many industries, including: hospitality; mining and mining services; transport; manufacturing; aviation; building and construction; retailing; and property and development.
Tim has conducted a large number of investigating accountant and consulting assignments for banks, companies and Government agencies. In recent years, Tim was involved in the restructure of the Brisbane Concrete Pumping group of companies and the restructure of BMA Gold Limited, resulting in its return to listing on the ASX.
Tim is an advisor to the Queensland Building Services Authority regarding financial assessment of contractors who tender for government building contracts.
Tim has conducted numerous due diligence reviews on behalf of Banks and investors using his combined insolvency and forensic skills to identify investment risks.
Tim also leads the forensics practice in Brisbane, specialising in:
- Reconstruction and analysis of accounting and other business records
- Quantification of loss, revenue or profits in contractual disputes
- The investigation of corporate accounting mis-statements
- Financial and fraud investigations
- Solvency reports
Recent forensic assignments include:
- Investigation of frauds against Bank debtor finance facilities.
- Assessment of tenant compensation claims following landlord redevelopment.
- Assessment of damages relating to alleged wrongful termination of a contract with a Registered Training Organisation (RTO), to provide traineeships.
- Assessment of lost profits relating to crop damage (tomatoes) arising from the supply and insulation of alleged defective irrigation tubing.
- Assessment of the value of Registered Mortgages and Registered Charges regarding property in Queensland in relation to an objection against sessments of transfer duty by the Queensland Office of State Revenue.
