Tim has a strong practical understanding of business which enables him to quickly assess the key business drivers and risk factors of a business to ensure maximisation of the value of the business. He has 23 years of experience in the accounting profession, specialising in insolvency and restructuring businesses in financial difficulties together with litigation support roles including acting as an expert witness.
Tim has conducted receivership, judicial management, liquidation, special accountant and investigation assignments in New Zealand, United Kingdom and Singapore. He has also been responsible for numerous monitoring assignments of trading entities in a variety of business sectors for both large and small enterprises.
Tim’s recent notable assignments included:
- Appointed as Judicial Manager of Mediastream Ltd. which concluded with a reverse takeover of Memstar, adding approximately $42 million in value to the pre RTO stakeholder of Mediastream in the first five days of re-listing.
- Acted as expert witness for Singapore Press Holdings to defend the defamation action initiated by one of the largest charity in Singapore, National Kidney Foundation. Tim was also appointed by the new board of NKF as their expert in investigation and reporting on the conduct of the old NFK directors.
- Acted as expert witness for Deutsche Bank in a case concerning shares in Adaro Coal Mine, Indonesia, which attracted significant publicity due to Deutsche Bank stating there is “no case to answer”.
- Acted as expert witness in a claim involving parties in the entertainment industry. The case was heard by the International Court of Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce in London.
- Involved in defending a claim by an Indonesia entity against the Singapore branch of a multinational company in the food industry.
