Biography

Will has been a partner at Ferrier Hodgson since July 2000 and has more than 24 years experience in corporate recovery and restructuring, and acts as a key advisor to major banks and other clients.

Will has particular expertise in:

  • Retail

In particular, Will has been active in the post GFC period in the Queensland property market across all sectors, which is reflected in some of his recent assignments as follows: 

  • Couran Cove Island Resort - $300 million iconic integrated tourist resort on the Gold Coast, including, 350 units, development land, marinas and island infrastructure. 
  • Equititrust Limited – Advisor to the senior lender on its exposure to this $250 million non bank financial institution.
  • Beach Road Holiday Homes – Receivership of Petrac’s $200 million eco tourism project on Noosa North Shore involving 42 luxury eco homes, development land, caravan park and hotel/resort.
  • Octaviar – Currently acting as liquidator of Octaviar Investment Notes Ltd and Octaviar Investment Bonds Ltd, two MFS subsidiaries. 
  • Opus Capital – Advisor to a senior lender on three of its funds, and later receiver of a 4,000sqm office building in the Brisbane fringe. 
  • GPD Group – Receivership of Chermside Galleria, a 6,000sqm office and retail project, large retail development site in Townsville and residential developmental site on Magnetic Island. 
  • Underwood Marketplace Shopping Centre – Receivership of sub regional shopping centre with total GLA of 13,930sqm ancored by Woolworths and BigW with 47 speciality tenancies.
  • Keen Gea Station – Receivership of a 45,000 acre, 9,000 head beef breeding enterprise south west of Charters Towers. 
  • Confidential – Advisor to the senior lender in respect of a $100 million integrated beef and farming enterprise including restructuring of a 40,000 head beef breeding, backgrounding, and feedlotting chain operating across multiple properties in Queensland. 
  • Confidential – Review of a 10,000 SCU feedlot on a large scale dairy in south east Queensland involving operational and financial restructuring. 
  • Confidential – Advisor to the senior lender in respect of a $50 million mining services entitiy, involving restructuring of its capital positon and senior debt facilities. 
  • Confidential – Advisor to the senior lender in respect of a $100 million manufacturer employing over 700 staff.
