The Owen Ferguson Health Group owns and manages three private hospitals in suburban and regional Australia: Cliveden Hill Private Hospital, East Melbourne, Victoria; Lismore Private Hospital, Lismore, New South Wales; Pioneer Valley Private Hospital, Mackay, Queensland.
Cliveden Hill Private Hospital closed on 28 May 2010 due to ongoing cashflow difficulties and a lack of feasible going concern sale options. On 4 June 2010 the Receivers and Managers finalised a sale in respect of the plant and equipment, inventory and business name.
Pioneer Valley Private Hospital closed on 23 March 2010 due to existing occupational health and safety concerns about the building, trading/cashflow issues and the impact of devastating Cyclone Ului. The Receivers and Managers were not able to secure a going concern sale of the hospital and finalised a sale in respect of the plant and equipment on 9 April 2010.
Due to ongoing regulatory and financial difficulties, Lismore Private Hospital was closed on 26 February 2010 and the Receivers and Managers have finalised a sale in respect of the plant and equipment.
There will be a significant shortfall in the amount owed to the secured creditor, and as such, no funds will be available for distribution to unsecured creditors.
