The bar and gaming operations of the Kyneton Bowling Club were closed by the club’s Receivers this afternoon. The future of the club has not yet been determined and Receivers were engaged in a series of meetings with the club’s presidents and representatives of the Macedon Ranges Shire Council.
The Receiver, Mr Brendan Richards of Ferrier Hodgson, said the closure of the bar and gaming facilities was disappointing but unavoidable given the losses the club was sustaining. Three fulltime and 15 casual positions have been affected by the closure, which is to take effect immediately.
The future of the club’s bowling facilities will be determined through the meetings with the club’s presidents and the local shire council this afternoon.
Ferrier Hodgson was appointed Receivers and Managers of the club on Wednesday February 24.
