Ferrier Hodgson enhances Cyber offering with senior hire

Ferrier Hodgson today announced Stephen Rennick has joined the firm as Head of Cyber, Executive Director. Stephen will boost the firms Technology and Forensic IT offering nationally and will be based in the firm’s Melbourne office.

Stephen Rennick brings over 25 years’ experience in Cyber Security roles within large consultancies with him. He will head up Ferrier Hodgson’s Cyber practice which will advise companies nationally on what assets need protecting, how to prioritise and implement that protection, including options for automisation, and legislation preparedness. Stephen’s appointment follows the recent acquisition of Ian Renwood as Azurium’s Head of Digital and compliments Ferrier Hodgson’s continued pursuit to be a recognised leader in the technology services space.

Michael Khoury, Head of Technology and Forensic IT at Ferrier Hodgson comments: “Cyber Security has always been an important pillar in corporate strategy. The introduction of the mandatory data breach notification laws in February makes a cyber focus even more pressing as the impact will be analysed and felt across the board. Stephen’s skillset will be a valuable asset to clients in the cyber security market. Stephen will play a critical role in our cyber growth strategy that forms part of our end-to-end technology solution to clients.”

Stephen was most recently a Cyber Security expert at EY having held roles at Verizon Business, PwC and KPMG. He has also owned two IT Security consultancies and has advised global organisations and the international standards community. Stephen has a strong technical background in cyber security and has worked across a variety of industries such as power and utilities, legal, financial services, telecommunications, media, government, payments, not-for-profit and retail.  He has also provided strategic advice to Boards, CIOs and CISOs.

Stephen Rennick comments: “Technology has always been under the spotlight and cyber security and strategy has shot to the forefront of c-suite priorities in recent times, not limited to an awareness of the need to be prepared for the global impact of the GDPR and the more local focus on mandatory data breach notification laws. I have known and respected the team at Ferrier Hodgson for years and am keen to address these changing times with digital delivery high-impact solutions that incorporate and capitalise upon the Technology and Forensic IT team’s offering. Azurium’s digital, analytics and performance improvement specialists and the turnaround team at Ferrier Hodgson will also complement the strategic corporate focus I’m keen to address.”
